So in our downtime Collins and Peters want to do a script study like a book study! We will be reading a script and then meeting online through Zoom to talk about it. No pressure to join and definitely not mandatory, but just wanted to give those who are interested, the opportunity to read a script and talk!
We are going to be reading Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde. Its a classic play that every theater person should know! You can find the free script HERE.
We will be starting with Act 1 discussion on Friday, April 3rd starting at 7:30 pm on Zoom! We will post the link here and through our Remind 101. Don't read ahead if you haven't already read it so we can all stay on the same "page"!
Things to look at and think of questions and thoughts about (do not need to take notes, unless you want to):
Character Analysis - what do you think about the characters motivations and thoughts? Where could this go?
Scenic Ideas and Lighting Idea - how would you design? Simple or Elaborate? Maybe draw a mock up?
Costume Ideas - same as above!
Directing Ideas - how would you direct it? Realistic or Abstract? Different time period? What do you see when you read it?
Style and Time Period - same as above!
Sociological Impact - what is Oscar Wilde saying about society at this time?
Writing Style - do you like Oscar Wilde?
